STEAM: Guthaben in Fremdwährung tauschen/aufladen geht nicht mehr

Hallo zusammen,

hab wie immer im örtlichen Discounter einen Guthaben-Code über 10Eur gekauft und möchte meinen Steam-Guthaben, das allerdings keine EUR-Währung ist aufladen. Das klappt nun nicht mehr und endet mit der Fehlermeldung:
There was an error redeeming the entered code.

• The code may be invalid. Please carefully verify blabla
• The code may not yet have been activated. It may take several hours blabla

Jetzt was mir neu ist:

• If the currency of the code you are attempting to redeem is different than the region in which you are located, you may not be able to redeem this gift card to your account. If this is the case please return this code to the retailer where it was purchased.
• If the problem persists, please contact blabla

Ging seither Problemlos. Hab 24h gewartet und auch bei der Eingabe alles richtig gemacht. Weitere Recherche ergibt in den FAQs:

Are there country restrictions on Steam Wallet codes?
Yes. Each Steam User Account is associated with a specific currency, which you can see in the top right corner of your Steam Client. You may encounter an error if you try to activate a Steam Wallet Code issued in a different currency than the one of your Steam User Account.

Auch das ist mir neu bzw seither war da glaub ein zusätzlicher Passus drin, das die Währung dann getauscht wird.
Kann das wer nachvollziehen bzw bestätigen?
Keine in Deutschland gekauften bzw EUR-Gutscheine mehr in Fremdwährung einlösbar?
