The game is incredible, I just love it... the bad thing is I bought the game full price on Jan 30, and 3 days later, they had this february EA 60% sale of this game in the playstation store, well, not exactly the standard edition, but the "deluxe edition"!! I paid $60 for the standard, when I could have gotten the Deluxw edition for $29. It would have been great to receive a notice to wait for 3 more days, not from amazon, but from PStore. I feel like I could have saved 40% of the purchase of Amazon gift cards made for this game... but, you know, s . . t happens.
Thank you anyway.... the game is not a dissapointment and somehow the $60 was still worth it.

This game has gotten a bad rap and I can see why with some of the issues. But the developers have been working on updates and it's a pretty decent game. Online only is annoying but it's not that big of a deal, for me at least. Great list of cars although some modifications are limited on certain ones. The handling could be improved, especially with the grip settings. Drift settings are easy to work out and I have no problem drifting around the map.

A new update including features like drag races and hot rods brought some extra content to a decent platform. The live action scenes were neat at first but lost some lusted towards the end.

Over all it really depends on what your expectation is going in. I was able to purchase the game for under $20 so my opinion might have been different if I paid $60. If you can get it cheap like I did, definitely pick it up. Keep in mind that is not a sim but an arcade racer.

Ordered the digital code. I keep getting this message when I enter the code: " The code you entered may not be correct or may no longer be valid. Please check your entry." Amazon says I need to contact Sony. Sony phone says wait is 40 minutes and recommends using online chat. Every few minutes Sony chat updates the screen with "Verification expired. Check the checkbox again." followed by the message "Cannot contact reCAPTCHA. Check your connection and try again." There is absolutely no problem with my connection! Meanwhile my grandson is expecting to be able to play this game tomorrow and right now it seems like I'll have to kiss this $21.44 goodbye and purchase this item again from a brick-and-mortar store.

UPDATE: Before shutting down my computer for the night I checked my email and found a message from Sony thanking me for my purchase. I checked my download library and found "Need for Speed" was already there -- even though I never was able to enter the code. Not sure I like how that happened, and it would have been nice if instead of the invalid code message they would have informed me that it was already in my library. Anyway, it is downloading now and hopefully my grandson will be happy when he sees it on his PS4 tomorrow.

UPDATE 2: My grandson continues to have connection problems with EA and NFS servers, both at startup and with run-time network errors. He is downstairs crying now because 1) just after he bought a car he was kicked off with a network error, 2) he just tried repeatedly for more than half an hour to get back on, and 3) when he got back on the car he purchased was gone along with the money he used to purchase it. Between his experience with this game and GW2 he is disgusted with EA.

It would be great if amazon actually gave me a digital code that worked. I bought the digital code for ps4 and whenever I try to reedem it at the playstation network store it says "This Playstation Network Card number has already been used. Please check your entry. (WC-40372-6)". So I can't even redeem the game that I just paid 60 dollars for. I've bought countless psn codes on amazon before and they all worked. Unfortunately it seems like I'll have to stop buying them, at least from amazon.

EDIT: I contacted the support and they resolved the issue. It was super fast and I'm thankful for the help. I've changed the review to 5 stars instead of one.

Good game.Graphics are nice as well as the multiplayer mode but the game is still missing a split-screen racing mode. Nonetheless my son still loves this game and it makes a great game for teens!

Fun game, but all the benefits you get in this game are only available for like 20% of the cars. Its very customizable if you buy the right car. Its also a very short campaign so don't expect an in-depth storyline. Playing with friends is great, servers are unreliable though.
